An excellent book which can help not only survivors of abuse, but all women who are feeling like victims.

I know firsthand how hard it is to recover and heal form the pain of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. I also know how challenging it is to put the pieces of your life back together after experiencing abuse. Today, I can proudly say I have lived a live free of abuse for more than 30 years. I have broken the cycle of abuse in my own life and my children’s lives.

I personally walked the path of abuse recovery for more than three decades with self-help work, education, therapy, group therapy, and reflection.

Finding Your Voice: A Path to Recovery for Survivors of Abuse and the Finding Your Voice Workbook provide the ideal methodology to help survivors obtain success in their emotional healing. I offer new perspectives that can change your narrative through practical and actionable exercises, inner-child trauma techniques, outward perspective shifts, and much more. I share encouragement, answers, and most of all hope, helping readers move step-by-step to a place of recovery.

Part memoir, part blueprint for recovery, Finding Your Voice uses a mix of personal anecdotes, accumulated knowledge, and expert techniques to help readers navigate a new healthier path in the aftermath of abuse.

With clear instructions and insightful examples, I lead the reader through the five stages of healing, built upon the foundation of years of self-help work, therapy and reflection, and my own transformative approach to healing.

Book Review

“Most of us can easily identify physical abuse when we experience or see it. Psychological abuse is harder to identify, being more of an insidious thing that creeps in and destroys self-worth before you even know it's happening. I know because I've been there, and I wish someone had given me a book like this to help me see and understand the damage.

Finding Your Voice is more self-help guide than memoir. Morgan shares anecdotes from her own life as a way to discuss abuse in its many forms. Mostly, though, Morgan shares what she's learned in the form of a guide for identifying and healing the lasting psychological and behavioral wounds.

If you or someone you love is dealing with abuse or its aftermath, this book might be the perfect gift.”

the five stages of healing:

  • Recognize abuse, step out of denial, and seek help;

  • Discover how past experiences have created negative self-beliefs. Learn to heal your inner-child and embrace The Big 3—self-acceptance, unconditional love, and self-respect;

  • Understand coping mechanisms that were needed for survival, and recognize how your personal B.A.R.—Behaviors, Actions, and Reactions—is the key to making healthy changes;

  • Learn to use the S.I.T.T. Patiently 5-step formula—intention, imagination, belief, action, and patience—and how your personal style of processing—visual, auditory, or kinetic—can lead to manifesting true desires;

  • Implement the Happy Boosters 8-step plan to instill more joy in your life, while letting go of your personal story. Tame those Happy Busters that stop you from having happiness and the life you desire;

  • Rebuild or create healthier relationships through mutual love, respect, trust, communication, and healthy boundaries.

The healing journey takes time and patience. Empathy, practicality, guidance, encouragement and the answers survivors are searching for are sprinkled throughout Finding Your Voice so every survivor knows they are not alone and there is always hope.

The companion Hope and Healing Audio is an excellent additional component to help survivors reprogram their negative self-beliefs into a more positive and empowering belief system. This audio is designed to be listened to each night as the survivor falls asleep. It gently helps the survivor’s subconscious mind accept more confident self-beliefs.

Book Review

“Finding Your Voice is an astounding book with a clear message – to help those suffering from abuse and to encourage those who have suffered to find their way in life. Mannette Morgan is a very talented writer, and it is clear that she has developed the best proven techniques along with real life experience to share with those in need. The book is written in a very clear and concise manner, and contains invaluable information for the right people to keep with them for a lifetime.

On behalf of everyone suffering, or those that have suffered from some kind of abuse, thank you, Mannette, for bringing hope and a new future to so many people! I wrote a more in depth review over on my blog:

Book Review

“This is a subject near and dear to my heart and it’s usually one that goes undiscussed by many. Don’t hide away in the shadows. Find your voice. Find yourself. And if starting with a book is your way to do that, then here is an excellent way to begin.”

Book Review

“Maybe some people will relate to this book more than others. Abuse happens more than we like to admit. The author is brave for sharing parts of her that aren’t easy in order to help others. This book isn’t a quick read. The author shares her experiences and ways to help deal with trauma and start the process of healing. There’s a lot of help and information provided in this book. She asks some hard questions. I will be honest and say that I have suffered from abuse. In reading this book, the message of courage and hope resonated with me. I truly enjoyed this book and I hope anyone who reads it, will fill them with hope and give them the courage they need to begin their own journey of healing. I give this 5 stars.”
